4 Reasons Every Kitchen Needs a Scale

When cooking (and even more importantly when you are baking) measurements can vary. For example, a cup of grated cheddar cheese can change depending on the size of the grate and subsequently how much cheese is packed in the cup. Flour can be equally varied, depending on the scooping method. Likewise, a handful of green beans will be different based on the size of the hand.

The only way to have consistent measurements (and overall better results) in the kitchen is by using what we like to refer to as our kitchen BFF, a scale. A kitchen scale is one of the most useful tools there are and here are four reasons why we love ours and you should give one a try.

1.       No more guess-work: Instead of measuring out different cup sizes, liquid measurements and tablespoons, a kitchen scale will give you fully precise measurements. No need to worry about leveling off your flour scoop or making too much pasta, your scale takes all the guess-work out of measuring ingredients.

2.       Quick cleanup: Not only does a scale make cooking faster and more precise, it also makes baking a whole lot cleaner. No more multiple measuring devices or bowls. All baking can be done with one spoon, a bowl and your handy kitchen scale.

3.       Easy conversions: Digital kitchen scales will weigh out measurements in either metric or imperial. One button will switch the measurements back and forth for you in an instant.

4.       Inexpensive & Easy: There are lots of great kitchen scales on the market, and they’re all easy to use. Not only do they take up a small amount of space in your kitchen, but they’re also inexpensive and can be found for around $10-$30.
